Yes. The Free plan needs no credit card. It includes job, company and document tracking with starter limits, interview Q&A notes, salary tracking and a small daily allowance of AI help. Paid plans remove those limits and add AI resume writing, AI job matching, the Chrome extension and an ad-free experience. The pricing page shows current prices and exact limits.

No installation required. JobEJ runs in your browser. The optional Chrome extension, included with paid plans, saves jobs from job boards in one click, but every core feature works without it.

The Resume Builder helps you create and edit resumes and download them as PDF or Word files; the Free plan includes a few downloads each month. Paid plans add AI resume writing: pick a job you're applying to and the AI suggests wording and keywords for that role, so you can keep a tailored version for each application.

The Chrome extension (paid plans) adds a button to your browser that appears when you're viewing a job posting on sites like LinkedIn, Indeed, Glassdoor, and more. Click the button and the extension automatically extracts job details like title, company, location, salary, and description, then saves it to your JobEJ dashboard. This saves you time and ensures you never lose track of interesting opportunities.

Absolutely! Each job entry has a dedicated section for interview preparation. You can store common interview questions for specific companies or roles, add your prepared answers, save information about interviewers you'll meet, and keep notes from each interview round. You can also research companies by storing their culture notes, recent news, and key talking points. This helps you feel confident and prepared for every interview.

Yes. Each job stores its salary range and compensation notes, so you can review offers in one place. Only you can see this information.

Go to Settings > Payment, choose a plan and complete checkout; paid features unlock as soon as the payment is confirmed. If you cancel a subscription, you keep paid features until the end of the billing period and then move to the Free plan. Your data is never deleted, but Free plan limits apply to anything new you add.

We use PayPal for secure payment processing. PayPal checkout can offer PayPal balance and eligible credit or debit cards; the methods shown depend on the buyer, location, and merchant eligibility. We never store your payment information on our servers.

Yes, you can cancel anytime without penalty. Go to Settings > Payment and click "Cancel Subscription." You keep paid features until the end of the current billing period, then your account moves to the Free plan. You can subscribe again at any time.

The Free plan limits how many jobs, companies and documents you can keep and how large an uploaded file can be. When you reach a limit, you can't add more until you delete something or upgrade to a paid plan, which removes those limits. Your existing data stays safe and accessible, and the jobs page shows how close you are to the job limit.

We occasionally run promotions with a promo code: type it under Settings → Payment → "Have a promo code?" before you pay, and the reduced price shows before PayPal opens. For a long job search, the Lifetime plan already costs less than paying monthly.

Your data travels over HTTPS (TLS) and is stored in a managed PostgreSQL database that encrypts data at rest. Your password is hashed with bcrypt and never stored in plain text. Access to your records is enforced by row-level security in the database, so each account can only reach its own data. We keep dependencies up to date and review the code for security issues, and we never sell your information.

We follow the GDPR principles of data minimisation and user control. You can view and edit your data in the app, export it from Settings > Export, and delete your account and everything in it from Settings > Account at any time. We collect only what the service needs, never sell it to third parties, and describe how it is handled in our privacy policy. We have not been independently certified.

Yes. Go to Settings > Export to download your jobs, companies and related records as CSV, which opens in Excel or Google Sheets, or as JSON. You own your data and can take it with you if you decide to leave.

Only you can see your job search data. Your information is completely private and never shared with employers, recruiters, or third parties without your explicit consent. Our team can only access your data for support purposes and only with your permission. We don't use your data for advertising or sell it to anyone. Your job search is your business.

We only share data with essential service providers who help us operate the platform (like hosting, payment processing, and email delivery), and they are bound by strict confidentiality agreements. We never sell your data or share it for marketing purposes. Any integrations (like AI features) process data securely and don't store it. See our Privacy Policy for complete details.

Deleting your account from Settings > Account permanently deletes your data, including jobs, companies, resumes and documents. It cannot be undone, so export your data first if you want to keep a copy.

JobEJ works on all modern browsers including Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, and Opera. We recommend using the latest version of your browser for the best experience. The Chrome extension is currently only available for Chrome-based browsers (Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera). Mobile browsers are also supported, though we recommend using a desktop for the full experience.

Currently, JobEJ is a web application that works great on mobile browsers. You can access your dashboard, add jobs, and update applications from your phone or tablet. The responsive design ensures a smooth experience on any device.

There is no file import yet. You can add jobs by hand, save them from job boards with the Chrome extension, find them on company career pages with the website scraper, or ask a connected AI assistant (ChatGPT, Claude or Claude Code, set up from the assistants page in the sidebar and explained in the Help Center) to add them for you. Yes: Google Calendar and Outlook for interview scheduling under Settings > Calendar, AI assistants (ChatGPT, Claude, Claude Code) from the assistants page in the sidebar, and, on paid plans, the Chrome extension with API tokens. We release updates regularly - typically every 2-4 weeks. Updates include new features, improvements, and bug fixes. You don't need to do anything - updates happen automatically and you'll always have the latest version. We announce major features in our blog and via email.
